 Greetings!
Perhaps you have heard the latest buzz going around in the west about Qigong, a form of gentle Chinese exercise good for the mind and body, that is now spreading in its use to successfully treat a number of specific medical conditions and symptoms of disease. Recent studies show that Qigong is effective in treating depression, fibromyalgia, parkinson's disease, arthritis, diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, weakened immune system, high blood pressure and breast cancer. Yes that is correct, even cancer.

We are happy to present you with this amazing opportunity to study the Eastern healing art of Medical Qigong. Starting mid-March with Medical Qigong Essentials, students will explore the art of this incredible healing practice, and earn the first 21 hours of credit in the 200 hour Medical Qigong Practitioner series, offered by Matthew Jones.

Medical QigongMany people are wondering what exactly is Medical Qigong?
Medical Qigong is the oldest branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and shares the same principles as acupuncture, acupressure massage, and Chinese herbal medicine.
Medical Qigong is a combination of energy work and qi massage. It addresses the internal organs, meridians, chakra gates, and body systems, to assist the body in its natural process of repair and restoration of harmony. In addition it strengthens the protective field around the body and builds up the immune system, aiding in the prevention of illness. Medical Qigong is used in a similar way that physical therapy addresses specific medical conditions with applied exercises. Practitioners develop their ability to sense and manipulate qi energy flow in and around the electromagnetic fields of the body.

What will students learn in Medical Qigong Essentials?
This course introduces the student to Medical Qigong self-healing exercises for establishing exceptional well-being in the body, mind and spirit. Exercises will be taught that help the body correct physical and energetic imbalances, strengthen and regulate internal organs, the nervous system, and immune system. In addition, these exercises can also relieve pain, regulate hormones and aid in the release of deep seated emotions. The course will introduce students to the basic theories of energy tonification, purgation and regulation of the body's organs and energy channels, as well as strengthening the body's protective energy field (Wei Qi).

SBBTI presents the Medical Qigong Practitioner Program.

Exploring the possibilities; Students share amazing stories about Medical Qigong!

True story!
"People have had miraculous experiences with medical Qigong treatment, myself included. I would like to share a very recent personal experience I had with Matthew Jones. A couple of months ago I noticed a hard mass on my left breast. I dismissed it at first as something hormonal that would go away. But it didn't, in fact it seemed to be growing in size and in hardness. I decided I had better see my physician to get it checked out. Luckily for me my physician is an awesome lady and she set me up with all of the proper tests to be completed right away. I was emotional about the whole thing and felt a lot of fear around this issue bubbling up to the surface. The same night after I had seen my physician I spoke briefly with Matthew Jones and was fortunate enough to receive a session in the clinic at the Santa Barbara Body therapy Institute.
The level of qi flow coming from Matthews hands was very intense. I had some emotional release during the session and a lot more following. The area that he worked on swelled up and was very sore the next day. The mass had changed in shape and had reduced in size.
I had another session with Matthew Jones the Monday before my appointment for all of the tests my doctor had scheduled. I thought the first session was intense but this one blew me away. I have never had that big of a shift with any treatment. It was incredible, I felt some major pressure on my chest, I looked and he wasn't even touching me. It felt like he pulled roots out of my body all the way down the inside of my right leg to my toe. I was shaking uncontrollably.
The blessing is that because I have had 220 hours of Medical Qigong training with Matthew, I was able to assist by being fully open to the treatment. The knowledge of the work from class enabled me to be fully present and let go. Without resistance, that blockage was cleared and it freed up incredible amounts of energy from deep inside of my core being. I am sure you can guess the outcome. The mass shifted again and two days later it was gone, and it is still gone. I went to have my tests and they verified that the tissue was normal.
What a blessing to have a such a gifted healer and teacher in our presence. Matthew Jones is a well spring of knowledge in so many areas. I have learned a lot in class and in his care. I am happy to be a part of the growth of Medical Qigong practice and look forward to the integration of eastern and western medicine in the future."
-Nell Craig Instructor, Medical Qigong 200 hr graduate

"Medical Qigong leaves no stone unturned. It has a beautiful comprehensive way of explaining any energetic phenomenon in the physical, emotional and energetic bodies. One reason I really love it as a practice it draws on your intellect and intuitive capacities in a powerful way."
Nicky LaFleur,  Medical Qigong 200 hr graduate

"I had been given a glaucoma diagnosis because I had three times the pressure of what is normal on my optic nerve. During medical qigong sessions, Matthew showed me how to normalize the pressure on my optic nerve through movement, Chinese herbs, and nutrition. I attribute my healing not only to the work but Matthew's talents and his gifts. I look at it as a miracle. Now I maintain my optical nerve balance completely with exercise."
