Greetings!

Our upcoming Clinical Pathology course is designed for all our advanced program students, students interested in passing the National Certification requirements as well as practicing therapists who are working with clients with pathologies and manifesting symptoms.

This course will illuminate common pathology profiles that may arise in your massage practice. The course will be organized around body systems, exploring the interrelationship of body systems in disease patterns as well as precipitating lifestyle factors. Students will learn pathologies of the:

• Integumentary system/skin, (such as dermitis, eczema, cancer, acne, fungal infections and parasites)
• Nervous system (such as muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy, stroke, anxiety and depression)
• Circulatory system (such as anemia, thrombis, varicose veins, heart disease) immune system (cancer, lymphedema, scleroderma, lupus)
• Digestive system (such as gastro esophageal reflex, ulcers, gall stones, cirrhosis, candida, colitis, irritable bowel)
• Endocrine system (thyroid disorders, diabetes)

The course will cover: the etiology or cause of disease and their manifesting symptoms as well as contraindications and indications to treatment. The class will meet Feb 13-Feb 27 (Wed, Fri) 9am-1pm and utilize the Massage Therapists Guide to Pathology as supporting textbook.
