Carolyn

 Greetings!

To all our grads of our Intro to Integrative Craniosacral Therapy we invite you to join us for the next offering in our Craniosacral series, CSI. For those of you who are new to Craniosacral Therapy we invite you to consider our next Intro to Intergrative offering.

Our instructor, Carolyn Kraskouskas brings a fascinating blend of neurology, cranial techniques and straight up talk. As owner of the San Francisco-based holistic center Be Whole Again (http://www.bewholeagain.net/), she earned  San Francisco Guardian's "Best Bodyworker" and "Best Place to get your health knowledge" award two years in a row. Carolyn trained at the Upledger Institute as a craniosacral therapist and has completed extensive coursework at the San Francisco School of Massage, Just for Your Health School of Massage, and at Santa Barbara Body Therapy Institute.

See  below for more details on each class upcoming. We invite you to join us for class or clinic.

Balance and ease be with you,

Craniosacral Therapy 1

This 30 hour course focuses on releases of the cranium. As a massage therapist knowing techniques that release head and neck trauma serves as an undeniable advantage in treating chronic and consistent low grade tension and pain held in the body. Cranial I will help the therapist employ techniques that allow for a more total relaxation of the entire upper torso. The course will approach cranial decompression as taught in the Upledger line of thought. In this course students will learn:

  •  The peristadt model
  •  The base occipital release
  •  The parietal and frontal release
  •  Sphenoid and mastoid release
  •  Tempromandibular joint and nasal cartilage release

Students will learn connections between the origins and insertions of the muscles from the head thru the neck to the clavicle bone. Students will learn the benefits of rub spine and how it applies to enhancing a cranial move. Techniques offered benefit TMJ, headache and carpal tunnel syndromes. The course also offers innovative and different techniques for releasing tissue around the corocoid process to create more space between the pectorals and the scapula.

Class:Class: Nov 28 - Dec 19 (Mon, Wed) 5:30-9:30pm

What's Possible with Integrative Craniosacral Therapy-
Muscles release faster

SoniaRoss"Studying Integrative Craniosacral Therapy has changed my approach to the deeper work that I do. I integrate the Craniosacral Therapy with various Deep Tissue modalities. Hypertonic muscles let go sooner. I do a lot of 20 minute sessions in offices and get a much faster shift contacting the spine and sacrum while I work. The results are dramatically different."
Sonia Ross, SBBTI instructor and Sports Massage Therapist

Recurring nosebleed resolution
"Carolynn is amazing at catching the subtle things that are off in our bodies.  She understands that the bigger problems are caused by these small, subtle things.  Her knowledge seems endless to me.  I had suffered from nose bleeds,  a strange and scary thing to go through almost every day, multiple times a day.  She has truly helped me when no other doctor or practitioner knew what was going on with my body.  In only a matter of a couple of hours she knew how to help me and what was going on inside my body.  Granted it took more than a couple of hours for my body to heal, she was the only one that knew how it could heal.  I have not had a nose bleed in months and when and if i do again, I understand why and what to do to help myself heal.  I am truly grateful to have such an amazing healer and friend in my life."

Cran SacThis 27- hour course combines traditional craniosacral holds, peripheral nervous system balances and how to blend craniosacral palpation with classic bodywork modalities. We will examine how these holds serve as pivotal synchronizers of the body, allowing the therapist to first tap into the subtle ebb and flow of the craniosacral rhythm and then begin to assess and address acute and chronic issues using nervous system integration. Integrative Craniosacral Bodywork benefits the body's energy by expanding the traditional holds through touch of the peripheral nervous system to allow constant contact with the main hub (the cerebrospinal fluid and central nervous system). This approach teaches students to relax the cranial system from the coccyx to the head, incorporating techniques to bring the entire body into sync. Students will learn to unlock the flowingpower of the cerebrospinal fluid through light tough massage, as well as to modulate between soft and firm touch, as well as integration of cranial tracking and balancing with traditional bodywork styles such as Swedish, deep tissue, reflexology and Tui Na.
