Greetings!

Got triggers? Wring your neckGot a certain someone that's a pain in your neck? Ever want to wring their neck to alleviate the pain in yours? Ever let the fury, rage and hate demons get the best of your mind and impulses? Although the impulse may sound satisfying to wring someone's neck, getting a trigger point session on your neck and shoulders offers a more direct route to alleviating your triggers. When we address the muscular boulders in our neck and shoulders, that keep us bottled up with  reactive, triggers of the mind and emotions, we allow an open pathway- a grounding of our mental, emotional energy into the chest, torso, legs and feet. Tight neck and shoulder muscles can literally keep our mental/emotional energy uptight and racing in our head.  While an open, elongated neck and shoulders can clear an easeful pathway to the peace and ease  and open vista of our heart.

TPLevatorThank God its Trigger Point Friday is our invitation to you to unwind from your week and redirect your energy from up and tight to down and flowing. Our student therapist will be offering a potent protocol for releasing Trigger Points in the musculature of the lower back, hips, inner thighs, pelvis, jaw, neck and shoulders.  Trigger Points are little nodules in the muscle that are highly sensitive and refer pain to other parts of the body when pressed. Trigger Point work is clothed and area specific and highly effective for addressing myofascial pain and tension.

To learn more about Trigger Points, I invite you to read a recent interview with Instructor John Harris in my online Bodywise column at the Santa Barbara Independent,
