HAGENS BERMAN CYCLING TEAM UNITES AT GRAVITEC
The birth of the fall protection industry came from the climbing and mountaineering community, and although that has become only a small part of what we do now, once a year we go back to our roots. Every year, Gravitec opens its doors and transforms its training floor for the Hagens Berman Domestic Elite Team, of which Gravitec is a sponsor. This is the first opportunity the riders get every season to meet their new teammates, and Gravitec facilitates the "getting to know you" process with a challenge course and initiatives designed to encourage teamwork and leadership.
Many of you may not consider cycling a dangerous sport. But, with the riders pedaling at an average of 20-25mph for 100 miles, literally rubbing elbows with teammates and competitors--it paints a thrilling picture. Gravitec incorporated this same "fear factor" into the challenges presented to the team, by way of--what else--heights. The problems presented by the facilitator were often met by apprehension at first, but after failed attempts, a few laughs and some helpful tips, the team was able to come together and acheive their goals as a unit.
