The Boston Athletic Association recently wrapped up its 2014 Boston Marathon Training Clinic series. Three sessions - held in January, February, and March - were hosted by the B.A.A. in cooperation with adidas. Race officials and staff were on hand to help you train to run your best race.

For the past 29 years, John Hancock has recruited over 600 of the world's best marathon runners from 45 countries to participate in the historic Boston Marathon.

This year the John Hancock Elite Athlete Team is comprised of 45 elite athletes from 12 countries. Combined, this group has won more than 80 global marathons including Boston, Chicago, New York City and Tokyo, and has earned Olympic and World Championship medals.  The defending champions Lelisa Desisa and Rita Jeptoo return, as do the 2011 and 2012 champions Caroline Kilel and Sharon Cherop. American course-record-holders Ryan Hall and Desiree Linden will lead the U.S. contingent, which also includes last year's fourth place finishers Shalane Flanagan and Jason Hartmann as well as Olympians Meb Keflezighi, and Abdi Abdirahman.

During race week some members of the elite team will visit elementary school children in Hopkinton and high school students in Boston. Many of the elites have participated in health and wellness clinics throughout the year and most of them contribute greatly to the betterment of their communities.

We wish you all the best in your final weeks of training as #WeRunTogether.  If you would like to learn more about these athletes, visit the Boston Marathon Online Media Guide by clicking the button below:
