Events and Activities at Wade House
At Work & At Play
May 17 & 18
Help Wade House get ready for spring! Prepare and plant the gardens, fill straw ticks, air out quilts, make beds, black the stove, and sweep the floors. Once the chores are completed, try your hand at pioneer games - catch flying hoops, walk on stilts and roll hoops. Guests will also get to make and fly kites.
On Sunday only, take in the sights and sounds of vintage base ball. Each year Wade House features a slate of pick up games throughout the summer season. With its unkempt field, underhand pitching and no gloves, the scores can be extremely high. Attend a match, and you'll be amazed at the rules that guided the 1860s teams.
Wade House historic site is celebrating Wisconsin Museum Week and International Museum Day by hosting "At Work & At Play."
