WELCOME TO RUTIZ FARMS
HAPPENINGS ON FARM:
A special note to someone who dropped a small bundle of money at our stand check out table on Tuesday...if that is you, please write me an email and identify the money so we can get it back to you.
NEW ITEMS AT THE STAND Our own jicama is back....we are probably one of the very few farms that grow this unique vegetable in California...come check it out and take home a piece to try! "Sierra High" Essential oils--made from lavender and white sage grown on our farm. We should have a fresh shipment of sweet, red watermelons coming from Pacific Organic Farm in Creston...they were great last week...don't miss out this week. Plenty of delicious yellow and white peaches from John Tenerelli of Littlerock, California. "Raul's" Dry Beans ( he is one of my field employees and these tasty beans come from his "garden" located on our farm). Red Kidney, Pervano and Piquito varieties. Raspberry u-pick this Thursday and Friday ( and Saturday if supplies last). The raspberry plants are not as vigorous as in past years, so not so many raspberries to pick...so come early for best picking. The price will be $5/ pound.
Be sure to look for our blackberries and raspberries at the stand table....this is their peak season---ripe and sweet! You may have heard of a grassroots movement to spread the love of books and learning all over the world. Well, Rutiz Family Farm is joining in with our own book exchange beginning Friday. Our goal is to share food books in all their forms; cooking, planting, harvesting, raw food recipes, juicing, whatever book you have that you'd like to freely exchange with your community. "Take a book, leave a book" p.s. We were inspired by one of our customers who has a free little library in her front yard!
