Welcome to Rutiz Farms

Stand
HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Our Stand will be open this coming Tuesday, Nov. 20,
from noon to 5pm.  By sure to come by and pick up some fresh veggies and beautiful flower bouquets for your Thanksgiving dinner. We will have plenty of green beans, potatoes, celery, Brussels Sprouts, butternut and all the other "winter"squashes, herbs  ("flat leaf" parsley for your stuffing) and all our other fresh vegetables and fruits to help with your dinner recipes.  We will even have on hand a few Brussels Sprout "trees"...the whole stalk with the sprouts still attached...I guess you could use it as a centerpiece and then remove the sprouts when you are ready to cook them!  In addition to our own veggies, we will have some tasty pears from Frog Hollow Farms of Brentwood ( certified organic), Fuji apples from Mike Cirone of See Canyon, Granny Smith apples and pomegranates from Chadmark Farms of Paso Robles, blueberries from Gary Teixeira of Orcutt,  sweet and juicy Valencia oranges from Bob Polito of Valley Center, and ripe Haas avocados from Dave Righetti of SLO.  For those of you who want to make your Pumpkin Pie from scratch, we have "sugar pie" pumpkins, an excellent choice for both bread cooking and pie making.
Sweet Pea Bakery ( Kelli ) will have some special treats for  your Thanksgiving table:  her Pumpkin Cheesecakes, Tiramisu, Morning buns, "pecan pie" macarons, Vegan and gluten free coconut cakes.
Also "Artisan" breads from  "Little Red Hen" Bakery
.

In honor of the Thanksgiving Holiday, we will  be closed Friday, November 23 and Saturday, November 24.   Since we will not be there Friday, there are also no Harvest Boxes this week.
For those of you picking up your Harvest Boxes in SLO, just a reminder that last week was the last delivery of the season.  Watch the Spring 2013 newsletters for signing up again, probably around mid March.
