"...to inspire excellence in choral music through
Education, Performance, Composition, and Advocacy."

December 2014 ChoraLink
Happy Holidays! I trust that this time of year brings a few days of respite from the whirlwind of choir rehearsals, repertoire planning, and concertizing that no doubt filled your December. As we all step back from the podium and take time to browse ChoralNet or our Facebook feed from the past few weeks, I think it will become strikingly clear how the choral world is thriving on the East Coast. So many events hosted by so many wonderful colleagues have shown up in my feed, with many amazing projects to come already being announced for the new year. It's an exciting time to have the privilege to be in this profession.

Speaking of our online presences, my wife had a wonderful suggestion: Why don't we all post our programs from the fall, or our planned programs for the next few months, to Facebook (or Twitter, etc.)? What a great way this would be to share our concert ideas with each other, and spread a bit of advocacy for the choral art along the way! I will be doing just that, and I hope you will join me.

All the best for a restful holiday, and I'll see you in the new year. As always, we're listening, and we're here to serve.

A Call for Donations to the Kegerreis Scholarship Fund
ACDA East invites you to make a tax-deductible donation to the Kegerreis Scholarship Fund

Richard Kegerreis (1928-2002) contributed enormously to ACDA through his service as editor of the Eastern Division's Troubadour, as national coordinator of newsletter editors, and as editor of New York's state newsletter Choral Cues. To honor these contributions, as well as his life as a dedicated choral conductor and mentor, the Board of the Eastern Division in 2002 established the Kegerreis ACDA Eastern Division Conference Scholarships.

Your donation to the fund is the gift of a transformative experience for our future conductors. Donate today by clicking here.
