POST SEASON YOUTH HUNT DAYS - JAN 31- FEB 1
CWA Post Season Youth Hunts
Free Post Season Youth Hunts for juniors 15 years of age and under are coming up January 31st and February 1st. All of CWA's lottery and free hunt deadlines have passed, but you can still walk-on at many state-run wildlife areas.

If you are a private land owner, consider hosting youths on your club during this special weekend.

AB 1709,  the CWA-sponsored bill that expands the junior hunting license age eligibility by two years and was signed by the Governor, goes into effect July 1, 2015. This bill also DOES NOT affect the Post Season Youth Hunts, which are under federal guidelines.

CWA SWABBING LOCAL DUCKS FOR A.I.

Has someone asked to swab your ducks lately? It might just be CWA biologists hard at work, taking saliva and excretion samples from hunter-shot birds to monitor the presence and concentration of avian influenza in the state, in partnership with the USDA. This virus doesn't usually make wild birds sick, but if transmitted to certain domestic birds - including chickens, ducks and turkeys - it can kill them.
