You don't have to vacation far away to take a moment to rejuvenate! Thanks to reader Whitney K. for sharing this gorgeous photo of a recent sunset at Rotary Park in Springfield.
We are at the midpoint of summer. It's time to Hydrate, Be Happy and Build Your Summer Bucket List! Enjoy this issue with fresh ideas and perspectives from area parents--including a super sweet prom story from Angie Koester.
We've revised our family's summer bucket list based on our ever-changing schedule and we'd love to hear your ideas on what "must-do" activities are left on your list!
Cheers,
- Kim Leistner

When we heard about Angie Koester's adorable prom date last month, we knew we had to share it with you! It's easy to brush off a toddler's question but what a difference it can make when we really listen. Read Angie's story, then think about how you can turn your child's inquisitiveness into a lifelong memory!

Springfield dad Mark Donovan reflects on what it means to be a parent--and how to be happier at the job. From letting the kids break things to allowing dirty hands, his goal is for his children to remember him as an inspiring parent. We hope you'll read Mark's advice on how to be a happier parent -- then become inspired! Please leave a comment on the post with your own tips for happier parenting!

In the summer, we increase our physical activity while the temperatures rise. That's great, as long as we remember to keep hydrated. Last week, Memorial's Live Well online magazine shared information about dehydration from Dr. Calvin Bell, including signs of dehydration, how to prevent it, and what to do if you or your child becomes dehydrated.
If your children have hit the "I'm Bored!" summer blues, maybe it's time to look back on what you'd hoped to accomplish this summer.
Did summer start in a blur? There's still time to START compiling a summer bucket list!
We asked our readers to share what they still hope to accomplish this summer--and some also added what their kids say is on their bucket list. Take a look and let us know what's on your summer bucket list!
