Boo! Our house was
"booed" a few days ago. Does anyone know who started this fun neighborhood tradition? We thought it was a ding, dong, ditch, and were thrilled when it was a bag full of fun and candy!
SpMoms is in the final stages of planning the Annual Kids Costume Contest in partnership with Downtown Springfield Inc. This Saturday morning, several area businesses have come together to provide a wonderful FREE family tradition. If you haven't ever seen the array of creative costumes in this contest for kids age 0-12 followed by the canine costumes; it's a new "must-do" tradition to add to your list. Plus you can enjoy the bounty of the market at the same time.
We're giving away a few more tickets to the Taste of Home Cooking Show so email springfieldmoms.org@gmail.com your favorite fall recipes by Monday the 28th! Enjoy our most spooky issue with ALL of the events organized for you on the go!

Whether you'll be walking the neighborhood with your kids or letting the big kids Trick or Treat on their own, the first step is to review Trick or Treating Safety. The American Red Cross has provided some great reminders for little kids, drivers and even those of us who will be at home greeting the little goblins!

Check here for our listing of area trick or treating hours. And keep checking back - we're updating the list daily!

We asked our Facebook and Twitter followers to share how they assign and reward chores for children. Responses included: "No idea" and "Please share any answers given." Clearly, there are no easy answers.
Lucky for us, SpMoms readers Brianna Hale and Jessica Marcolini offered some advice - read their tips for chores here. If you have other tips, please leave a comment!
