The 2012-2013 Clinton-Sampson Junior Leadership Class spent November 13, 2012 learning about Local Government. The photo above is the class before they left the Expo Center for the day. Jr. Leadership Local Government Day was a huge success due to the support of those involved: City of Clinton (City Manager, Fire Chief), Norman T. Larkin Waste Water Treatment Plant, Parson-Anders Water Treatment Facility, Sampson County (County Manager, Board of Commissioners), and Jr. Leadership Steering Committee member Shawn Purvis, for organizing this day.

SRMC Blood Donor Center Ribbon Cutting 
Sampson Regional Medical Center had a Ribbon Cutting Thursday, November 15th at the new location of their Blood Donor Center. Located inside the Outpatient Diagnostics Center at 233 Beaman Street in Clinton. On hand were Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Shawn Howerton and SRMC Foundation President, Jeffrey Shipp. Donor Service Coordinator/RN, Deborah Finney cut the ribbon. SRMC is one of three hospitals in NC that has its own blood bank and donor program. The demand for blood in our region continues to grow, so if you are eligible to donate blood, we encourage you to do so. Just one blood donation can save up to 3 lives. All donors live or work in Sampson County, and blood donated in Sampson County stays in Sampson County. Contact Deborah Finney and staff at (910) 592-8511 ext. 8442 for more information.
