Dear Fellow CCA Parents,

As CCA celebrates it's 10th Anniversary, we are pleased to introduce the Canyon Crest Academy Foundation Newsletter. This newsletter is intended to supplement information available on our website (www.canyoncrestfoundation.org) and will focus primarily on CCA Foundation sponsored fundraising events and programs of interest to the CCA community. The newsletter will also serve to consolidate communication from the Foundation.

We hope to add more information that may be of value to you, to ensure that you are kept up-to-date with what is happening in our CCA Community.  If you would like to see any specific content in future newsletters, please let us know at ccafoundation@gmail.com.

Thank you.

SPOTLIGHT ON CCA'S QUEST PROGRAM

QUEST (The STEM Experience at CCA: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

QUEST at CCA has recently been updated and expanded to include a wide variety of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) designated electives and activities in research and practical applications of STEM subjects, including after-school programs.

The original QUEST Program, a research program run by the CCA Science and Math Departments, is now designated "QUEST Research". It will continue to provide opportunities to observe and conduct original scientific research.

Further information on CCA's Quest day classes as well as after school programs can be found here.

CHALLENGE DAY
FEB 4-6

Challenge Day is a powerful and transformational day that can change the way people view each other forever. It is a day of fun, friendship and new possibilities. Through a variety of games, trust-building activities, and presentations, you will be given a unique opportunity to see yourself and the people around you with a new understanding. The goal of the Challenge Day program is to increase personal power, promote community building and to help end the teasing, harassment, and alienation that can be such a deep and painful part of the high school experience for teenagers.

Challenge Day is for all grade levels. Please note: Administration and Staff are supportive of students and will not penalize students for missing a day of school to participate in Challenge Day because we acknowledge the long-term power and value of this event for both individual students and the school community as a whole.

Challenge Day is funded entirely by the CCA Foundation, from generous donations to the Raven's Fund.  We ask you to consider a suggested donation of $40 to the Raven's Fund for Challenge Day (click here to make a donation).

Space is limited, so complete and turn in your permission form no later than January 24 by 1:00 pm to room E102 or the Admin Building!

Parents/Guardians: please read this invitation for more information about Challenge Day.

Adult Participants are needed to help facilitate each day. The role you play is crucial for the success of the day! If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our Adult Leader Coordinator Mindy Scarano @ zscarano@aol.com.
