Whats new at the library?
"Dick Allen Comes To Philadelphia" a lecture by Dr. Jerrold Casway

In case you missed it...
Dr. Jerrold Casway came down to the Avalon Free Public Library and did an hour long lecture about the legacy of Dick Allen and his experience in Philadelphia! The full lecture is now available on YouTube! If you want to see more lecture videos on YouTube, please let us know!
Author Lectures - Gina Miani and Fran Zimniuch
Gina Miani spent many summers in Avalon writing this book; she was always intrigued with the name, being a huge King Arthur fan, and so thought it would be fun to incorporate that old legend with a modern story. The story does roughly follow the classic tale of Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot, with a little Elaine thrown in.
Lecture will be held Tuesday, August 5th at 7:00pm

Sports author Fran Zimniuch will be discussing his latest book (co-authored by Branch Rickey III) "Baseball's New Frontier: A History of Expansion- 1961 to 1998". He will also review the writing process for this book and previous works.
Lecture will be held Wednesday, August 6th at 7:00pm

Bay-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra - "Go The Distance"
8/16/2014 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

The orchestra will present Go the Distance, with music by Verdi, Borodin, Sibelius, and Brahms Violin Concerto performed by Caroline Goulding.
Tickets available to the general public two weeks prior to performance.
