:

Today, I invite you to read Judges 21.  I am glad to be finishing the Old Testament book of Judges.  While the book shares important spiritual principles with us, the events of the book are hard to read.  Many of the events shared in the book shock our consciences, but if we are honest, the world described in the book of Judges is not so different from the world in which we live.  In Judges 21, the sins of the people are further compounded as they seek to provide a human solution to a problem they have created and of course the human solution only makes matters worse.  May we learn from the events retold in Judges to be completely dependent on God in all our ways, to wait on Him earnestly and to seek His face persistently.  May we take the lessons of Judges and deploy them in our individual lives and in our life together so that God finds in us a people set apart for Him, ready to do His will and to live out His character.

In Christ,

June 21 Prayer Focus -- Learning The Lessons Of The Past

Lord, thank you that your word is brutally honest about the human condition.  Grant us favor to learn the lessons from the actions of those who have lived before us so that we do not repeat their mistakes.  Empower us to be those wait on you earnestly, seeking your face persistently, and to live lives which reflect your character and pursue the fulfillment of your will.  In Jesus' name. Amen.

Please pray for the following needs:

Brian Lamb - Pray for Brian as he travels to Chicago to attend the "Lead The Cause" conference put on by Dare2Share.  Brian will be flying to Chicago today and the conference begins this evening.  He is fighting symptoms of a cold and he would appreciate prayers for strength and recovery.  Pray that the Holy Spirit will move through all who participate in the conference this week and that Brian would receive all that God has for him in this time.

Kathy Carranza -- Kathy is in a season of transition involving her employment.  Pray for provision of a new job that would be God's will for Kathy and her family.  Pray for peace for Kathy as she finishes her time in her current employment.

The DiBiasi Family -- Pray for Beth and Jim as they are seeking to sell their home here in Fredericksburg.  Beth is already employed in the Pittsburgh area and Jim has now relocated up there.  Pray for God's provision during this season of transition, for His grace for the family as they adapt to living in the new community and for encouragement especially for Jim as the move has been hard for him.

Wilderness Community Church -- Pray that we would be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, putting on all of God's armor so that we might be able to stand firm against all of the strategies of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-11.
Wilderness Community Church exists to introduce people to Jesus Christ and help them become His fully devoted followers.
