"Nutty and cyanic piquancy balanced by strong primary juiciness and mouthwatering salinity make for a Kruger-Rumpf 2011 Munsterer Pittersberg Riesling Grosses Gewachs that is recognizably the immediate sibling of their non-Grosses Gewachs Pittersberg trocken bottling, and which also - despite an undertone of stoniness - manages to ward off the austerity of the corresponding Dautenpflanzer. Here, a bit more alcohol has conveyed a glossy texture, but with pineapple joining papaya, apricot and musk melon in the wine's litany of fruits there is a bonus in refreshing tartness even if not in levity. I imagine that this will serve well for 6-8 years."  David Schildknecht, February 2013

 KRUGER-RUMPF Binger

90 POINTS The Wine Advocate

"From that portion of this site whose surrender to botrytis proved noble, Kruger-Rumpf's 2011 Binger Scharlachberg Riesling Spatlese smells of soursop, resin and overripe honeydew melon, which then inform a broad, oily, moderately juicy mid-palate. Hints of citrus pip and rind bitterness serve to extend and to push back against the sweetness of a sustained finish. While this suffers in direct comparison with the corresponding Dautenpflanzer, it should prove lovely over at least the next dozen years." David Schildknecht, February 2013

About Kruger-Rumpf
KRUGER-RUMPF Vineyard
Winegrowing has been a tradition in our family since 1708. Our family run winery is among Germany's best winegrowing companies: The VDP accepted us as a member of the wine region Nahe in 1992.

Spoiled by the sun, our vineyards are located in a narrow side valley of the Nahe and in Rheinhessen, safe from wind and rain. In this small area, our vineyards offer a wide range of different soil types for the perfect growing of wine.

In order to guarantee best quality, we thoroughly harvest the grapes by hand and grant the wines enough peace and time in the cellar. Our wines are shaped by a unique and distinctive style - they communicate authenticity.

We are especially proud of our Riesling vines, part of which are over 50 years old. Producing wine of highest quality has been our claim for generations.
