"Powerful, pungent aromas of pear, orange pith, baking spices and dried flowers, with a mineral overtone. Dry and incisive on the palate, offering lively citrus and orchard fruit flavors and slow-building smokiness. Nervy and taut on the finish, leaving notes of allspice and candied citrus fruits behind." December 2011

The wine explodes with aromas of strawberry underlined with hints of concentrated strawberry jam. The palate is well structured with a perfect balance of freshness and roundness of fruit. It is dominated by voluptuous flavours of red fruit such as wild strawberries delivering a sweet, enveloping sensation. A beautifully accessible champagne when young, but on cellaring well it will keep or even intensify its beauty.

"Bright pink. Intense, spice-accented aromas of dried red fruits, blood orange, cinnamon and minerals, with a subtle note of anise. Dry and precise but fleshy, with very good depth to its tangy redcurrant and bitter cherry flavors. A refreshing jolt of orange zest adds bite to the long, juicy and focused finish. I really like the blend of power and vivacity here." December 2011

Pale gold/yellow in colour, light, limpid and crystalline, fizzing with thousands of bubbles. An open and expressive nose, with rich flavours of plump, ripe yellow stone fruit such as apricots or peaches and almonds. From the first sip the palate is rich, rounded and powerful. It shows a lovely development with a soft freshness combined.

"Refined and creamy, with delicate acidity that finds fine balance with the layers of poached apple and pear, lemon cake, ground ginger, smoke and almond cream flavors. Very elegant. Drink now through 2020." December 2011

A few words about Champagne Gosset
Riddling/Remuage at Gosset
Founded in 1584, Gosset is one of the oldest champagne houses in the Champagne region, western France. Founded by Pierre Gosset who was gifted land from Jean Gosset, a grape grower in A˙. Pierre began to export wine under his name. The first wines produced and exported by Gosset were still wines and mainly red. This was typical for the 16th century in France.

In 1994, the house was sold to the Cointreau family. Under the management of Beatrice Cointreau, (also the head of Cognac Frapin), Gosset succeeded in increasing its production to one million bottles in 2005. The house is now successfully headed by Jean-Pierre Cointreau.

Gosset wines are made from a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier. Gosset is one of the few Champagne houses that prevent their wines from undergoing malo-lactic or secondary fermentation. This is done to preserve the wines natural fruitiness. The house is known for its slightly sweet Brut Excellence and its vintage prestige cuvee Célebris and Grand Millésime.

The Wine Advocate, Antonio Galloni

"The house style is one of finely-sculpted wines that possess striking clarity and precision."
