Solengo IGT Toscana 2009
Tuscany, Italy

PRICE:  $79.00/bottle
FORMAT:  6x750mL
AVAILABILITY:  SPEC, Very Limited Stock Available

94 POINTS Wine Advocate
"The estate's 2009 Solengo bursts from the glass with blackberries, ash, grilled herbs, licorice and new leather. This blend of 30% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Petit Verdot and 20% Syrah aged in French oak fared much better in 2009 than the 100% Sangioveses. All the elements flow together gracefully in this soft, voluptuous wine. The finessed, silky tannins elevate the 2009 even further. This is a terrific showing from Argiano. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029." April 2012

94 POINTS jamessuckling.com

"A rich red with tar, berry, mineral, and fresh herb character. Full and velvety, with polished and caressing tannins and a flavorful finish. Layered and intense. Reminds me of the excellent 1999 Solengo... " 2012

ARGIANO Estate

ARGIANO

Argiano is thought to be an ancient place, full of history, where wise men searched for Ara Jani, the legendary altar of the roman god Janus.

At the summit of a wonderful hill, south-west of Montalcino, the magnificent Villa of Argiano was built in the Renaissance by the Peccis, a noble family from Siena. It's truly a medieval jewel, nestled in the heart of Montalcino.

Argiano's vineyards are blessed with a fortunate microclimate and enviable position both of which contribute to favourable development of the grapes. The close proximity of Argiano to Monte Amiata, one of Tuscany's highest peaks shelters

the area from bad weather. Consequently, all enabling Argiano to produce year after year high profile and consistently good vintages.

The creator of these superb wines is Hans Vinding-Diers. Vinding-Diers has been with Argiano since 2003. Before that he comes from a long line of oeneologists, growing up in Bordeaux and working on his father's vineyard. Hans continues to seek knowledge but adding innovation and creativity, while still respecting tradition.

Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano grew up in vineyards belonging to her family. World traveled, she returned to her home in Montalcino in 1992 and purchased Argiano, an estate of her own.

The Argiano vineyards have been producing wine since the 1500's, with most of the wine being served to nobility. Today, Argiano is known for quality wines of drinkability, and ageability!
