92 POINTS Wine Enthusiast

"It's rich and ripe in blackberry, cherry, currant and oak flavors, with wonderful tannins and a dry finish. Best now." March 2013

91 POINTS Wine Access

"This is a stunning glass of wine, with chocolate, dill, tar, leather, cherry, cassis, spice, vanilla and earth tones on the nose. There are big, but beautiful tannins, earthy flavours and big fruit. It is drinking great now, but is suitable for cellaring 10 or more years if desired." Tom Firth, May 2012

Tasting Notes
The deep red wines are a beautiful purple ruby colour and they develop very ripe red fruit flavours (cherry, blackberry and raspberry). On tasting the wine the aroma is intense and flowing . The scent of red cooked fruits and torrefaction (significant roasted qualities) dominate. One detects also a point of graphite and a nuance of cinnamon. Very round and very flexible at the beginning of the mouth, it affirms with persistence then tight tannins and then with sharp edges. Very beautiful retro-smell with flavours of smoke and prune. This wine is ready to drink but could also be laid down for some years.
