"The 2008 El Gran Enemigo Malbec contains small quantities of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot in its blend. It has a dense purple color and an alluring nose of sandalwood, exotic spices, incense, lavender, a hint of balsamic, and black cherry. Ripe, sweetly-fruited, and voluptuous, this layered, spicy offering mandates 3-4 years of cellaring and will deliver prime drinking from 2014 to 2023+." December 2011
"Cabernet Franc is a variety that many winemakers are toying with, and I can certainly see the potential; Argentina's climate is perfect for achieving those lovely bell pepper notes while achieving phenolic ripeness. Most winemakers still view Cabernet Franc as a blending variety, although the El Gran Enemigo 2009 from [Alejandro Vigil] demonstrated the heights it can achieve (though you could argue that it attested as much to the art of assiduous blending!)" Neal Martin (Making Malbec on the Moonscape: Argentina 2012, October 2012).
