Inspired by the blends of the southern Rhône, Troublemaker consists of 55% Syrah, 20% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre and 5% Petite Sirah. Syrah is the backbone of the wine, setting the stage with a fruit-forward style and full body. The bright and sweet flavors of Grenache further enhance the blend. Mourvèdre adds texture and additional rustic flavor, while Petite Sirah adds
color and additional tannins.

Nicolas Catena is Argentina's Malbec Pioneer. The winery is nestled at the foot of the Andes mountains and is inspired by the Mayan pyramids. For Nicolas, the Mayan pyramids are the height of Pre-Columbian American architecture. And his winery symbolizes a continent's history, a family's pride of its Spanish and Italian roots, and a quest to show to the world the unique ability Mendoza has to produce truly exceptional wine.
. Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 . PRICE: $21.99/bottle CSPC: +427849 FORMAT: 12x750mL LISTING: Specialty 92 POINTS Wine Advocate Wine of the Day - December 12, 2012 ". . . It has a Bordeaux-like bouquet of blackberry, bilberry, graphite and dry tobacco that is well-defined and classic in style. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. There is a palpable sense of tension to this Cabernet, which exhibits great precision on the spicy, edgy finish. Full of personality, this comes highly recommended. Drink now-2017." "Bench, it's a blend of merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon that saw 24 months in French oak and an additional 24 months developing in bottle. It's a powerhouse of rich fruit, yet it's layered with complexity and woven together with balance. A core of creamy cassis and chocolate mingles with cedar, tobacco, leather, vanilla and spice. It should cellar well for a decade or more and would pair handsomely now with juicy beef.

Claret is a term that was originally coined by the British to describe Cabernet Sauvignon based wines such as Bordeaux, or those made in a similar style. Since the inception of the Diamond Collection in 1997, Claret has been the flagship wine of the brand. We use several Bordeaux varietals in our blend-Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Occasionally, we add Malbec as well, although this vintage we decided to leave it out. .
We harvest grapes from our own estate as well as other Napa, Sonoma and El Dorado vineyards. This combination of climates results in great complexity and exquisite balance. Our Claret bottle is also distinguished with gold netting in order to convey its prestigious status, a tribute to the way Europe's finest wines were once presented.

Joseph Phelps was enamored with the beautiful Napa Valley and in 1973 he bought the 600 acre Connolly cattle ranch in Spring Valley, and began planting vineyards. The winery was completed in 1974, and that same year the first Syrah was made, the first grapes were crushed at the new facility and the first Insignia was produced.
 . Insignia 2009. PRICE: $254.99/$535.99 per bottle CSPC: +495945/+878975 FORMAT: 6x750mL/3x7500mL LISTING: Specialty/Speculative 93-96 POINTS Wine Advocate
"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Insignia is a big, generous wine that covers the palate with waves of dark red fruit. Today it is beautifully expressive and opulent yet also well balanced. An explosive finish rounds things out in style. This looks to be a relatively approachable Insignia. Floral, spicy notes round out the finish. In 2009 the blend is 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot and 4% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2029."
