Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
Mendoza, Argentina
PRICE: $14.99/bottle FORMAT: 12x750mL CSPC: +467944 AVAILABILITY: SPLTY, Good Stock Available
90 POINTS Wine Advocate
"The 2011 Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in the same manner as the Chardonnay. It has an attractive bouquet of red currant, blackberry and cassis that is well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins on the entry. This is a more reserved take on Cabernet with an Old World sensibility, but it has superb earthiness and an almost Bordeaux-like classicism on the finish. This is excellent. Drink now-2017." Neal Martin, December 2012

Malbec 2011
Mendoza, Argentina
PRICE: $14.99/bottle
FORMAT: 12x750mL
CSPC: +467951
AVAILABILITY: SPLTY, Good Stock Available
89 POINTS Wine Advocate
"The 2011 Alamos Malbec, raised the same way as the Cabernet Sauvignon, has a simple bouquet of dark cherries, blueberry and crushed violet. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent, fine tannins. There is a seductive sense of harmony here with a light but insistent grip and a minerally aftertaste. This Malbec is very well-crafted. Drink now-2017." Neal Martin, October 2012

89 POINTS Wine Diva
(Daenna Van Mulligan)
"A nicely balanced and attractively priced Chardonnay with aromas of roasted nuts, pineapple and citrus atop toasted spice and hints of caramel. The palate is an echo of the aromas - spice, toast, nuts and tropical fruit with plenty of citrus to keep it bright. A creamy texture and a lively finish make this a good wine for roast chicken, almond crusted halibut, corn chowder of creamy pastas." November 2012

ALAMOS
The Alamos winemaking philosophy is to make flavourful, drinkable wines that preserve each varietal's distinctive aroma, flavour and texture. Some of the Alamos wines acquire additional complexity from moderate oak aging. The Alamos winemaking team aims to make wines that are as good as wines twice their price. Grapes for Alamos are hand harvested to ensure gentle handling. A double manual selection process ensures only the best grapes are used.
Alamos wines receive moderate oak aging of a mixture of French and American oak which varies according to the vintage.
Alamos wines are made at Bodega Alamos, a state of the art facility located in Vistaflores, Mendoza. The winey has specially designed conic tanks allow for soft, gentle extraction. It's small format tanks allow for lot selection and separation.
