We're saving your place in quilt history!
2016 Video Annual Report
The year is quickly drawing to a close, and it's time to reflect and refuel. Please watch then share our 2016 Video Annual Report with your network of friends, family and colleagues, to see highlights of our activities and accomplishments this year, then visit our website to make a donation of any amount. Just like quilt stories, all contributions are valued and important to us.

As we say in our Top Ten Reasons to Make a Contribution list, the best reason to give to the Quilt Alliance is so we can continue documenting, preserving and sharing the stories of quilts and their makers.

Inspired Giving--What motivates you?
"Happy It's Spring" by Allie Aller
Do you donate or purchase quilts to support a cause you care about?

We'd love to hear what causes and organizations inspire you to donate quilts that you've made. Do you regularly make and donate quilts to your local hospital or animal shelter, or are you moved to make work for auctions that benefit causes you care about? What is the most meaningful quilt donation you've ever made?

Respond to our survey here. Everyone who responds by January 15 will be entered in a drawing to win a set of three Quilt Alliance tote bags.
Go Tell It at your Guild! Register now for 2017-18
In 2016, the Quilt Alliance, based in Asheville, North Carolina, held a year-long pilot program to develop our documentary program for guilds and groups. The project was funded in part by a grant from the International Quilt Association (IQA). We set out to visit three different quilting groups in the state with active memberships interested in sharing their quilt stories via the Go Tell It at the Quilt Show! project. We were thrilled to partner with the African American Quilt Circle in Durham, the Southern Wake Quilters Guild in Fuquay-Varina and the Heritage Quilters in Warrenton.

We did half to full day programs with each group, recording 3-minute videos with members using the Go Tell It at the Quilt Show! format (One quilt, one person, one camera: three minutes--another quilt story saved!). Below is a sampling of videos documenting the quilts and stories shared by the generous quilters of these NC guilds.

If your guild would like to book the Quilt Alliance for a Quilt Story Doc Day so your members can Go Tell It!, or if you would like to learn how to become your guild's Do It Yourself Doc Day Leader, register on this page on our website. We are scheduling guild programs for 2017-18 now, so don't wait to get on the list!

Reasons to Give This Season

Cultural heritage insurance: when you provide a sustaining contribution to the Quilt Alliance, you ensure access to high-quality documentation of today's quilt stories.

Improve your health! A 2006 National Institutes of Health survey found when people give to charities, it activates regions of the brain associated with pleasure, social connection, and trust, creating a "warm glow" effect. Just like a quilt!

Double your money: through December, all donations will be matched by one of the Quilt Alliance's generous foundation partners.
