Stories of Seasonal Quilts

We hope you are all nearing that time of the holiday season we all look forward to -- putting your feet up!!

We've selected a few Quilters' S.O.S. - Save Our Stories especially for the season. So, pour yourself a warm beverage and click on the images below to read about three fascinating quiltmakers: Linda Cantrell of North Carolina (top), Resna Ximines Hammer of Washington, DC (middle), and Karen Kay Buckley of Carlisle, Pennsylvania (bottom). Each begin their interview by sharing a holiday-inspired quilt, and go on to tell about their first quilt memory, their workspace, what makes them tick as a quiltmaker and who inspires them.

Searching the Q.S.O.S. interview collection is a great way to find out more about someone who is coming to your guild to teach, or browse the archive to expand your horizons on different techniques or genres in quiltmaking. There are more than 1,000 interviews on our website and archived in the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress!

Perfect holiday reading!

Quilt Alliance 2014 Video Annual Report
Quilt Alliance 2014 Video Annual Report

Since 2011, the Quilt Alliance has produced a year-end video to share highlights of our accomplishments at year end. Our original goal was to illustrate the year's work in a compelling and visual format that would make longtime funders proud of their loyal support and inspire new friends to make a first donation.

Over the past four years, these videos have become a documentation series all their own--our home movies. They show us growing and stretching, learning new things, covering new ground, making new friends and honoring old ones. Please watch our video year in review and consider making a donation to fuel our work in 2015. Every dollar will be matched through December 31!

Make a secure online contribution or download a mail-in form on our website here.

Happy Holidays, Everyone!

We look forward to announcing the names of our Year-End Drawing on Tuesday, January 6! All donors and members who contribute at least $25 by December 31, 2014 will automatically entered to win one of these great prizes below, donated by Quilt Alliance board members. Donate, join or renew today for your chance to win!
