PORTFOLIO SHOW ENDS THIS SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15
"The Money Man" © Talbot Selby
Saturday Hours: 12:00 - 4:00

Portfolio Show photographer, Talbot Selby, will be in the gallery this Saturday. It's your last chance to see his work, Bluesland, in addition to work from all of the talented photographers comprising this year's Portfolio Show!

Talbot Selby's, Photographic Interpretations: The Culture and Geography of the Delta Blues, is a collaborative documentary which examines the forgotten aspects of the blues - the people and the landscape that inspired the music. Research on the geography of the Mississippi Delta blues by historian, Dr. John Strait, inspired this examination of place. Bluesland is a selection of Talbot Selby's photographs from the cumulative body of work.

SPEAKING OF PHOTOGRAPHY WITH MICHAEL REESE
Wednesday, February 19 at 7:30pm - APG Gallery

Speaker, Michael Reese, will discuss his photography and take questions and answers during our February Speaking of Photography.

BIOGRAPHY:
Michael Reese is an Atlanta artist originally from Long Island, New York. He moved to Atlanta twenty years ago to pursue a business degree, eventually following his passion for the arts by enrolling in The Atlanta College of Art. During art school, he was exposed to several disciplines that still influence his work today. Reese says his work is best described as conceptual in nature. In his conceptual work, he is looking to have the viewer re-imagine the impossible as possible. Reese's work presents the familiar re-mixed, to bring a sense of awe to the already seen.

He exhibits regularly and was recently commissioned to create an installation for newly built Fulton County Aviation and Cultural Center. He's titled the work "A Force Proportional To Their Masses." It's a body of work that will honor African Americans in Aviation past and present. Reese's work is in public and private collections including Clark Atlanta University, Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Agnes Scott College, City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs and MARTA. His work has been published in Graphis, Atlanta Olympics (Alston & Bird), The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Art Papers, Akashic Books and 30 Years: The Atlanta Jazz Festival. Reese has also taught photography and mixed media courses throughout his career.
