October ACP Event: Zack Arias Wednesday, October 16, 7:00 - 9:00PM
In lieu of our October Speaking of Photography, we are directing APG members to an ACP event featuring Zack Arias, on our regularly scheduled night. This event will be held upstairs at Tula at MOCA GA. Arias is an Atlanta based editorial and commercial photographer who has been making waves in the photography world with his straightforward and insightful approach, not just behind the lens, but across the social media spectrum. From his popular blog to his new book Photography Q&A: Real Questions, Real Answers, Zack Arias has revealed a whole new level of transparency for the in-and-outs of photography professionally.

........CALL FOR ENTRIES........
Curator and Associate Director of the Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago. Ms. Irvine has organized over forty exhibitions of contemporary photography at the MoCP and other venues.
DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: NOVEMBER 2, 4:00PM
Show Dates: December 13, 2013 - February 01, 2014 Entry Form HERE APG/HMA $2,500 PRINT PURCHASE AWARD
In conjunction with PORTFOLIO, ONE artist may have their work included in the permanent collection of the HIGH MUSEUM OF ART ATLANTA.
Brett Abbott, HMA Curator of Photography, will review the photos selected by Ms. Irvine. If Mr. Abbott would like to acquire work for the Museum's permanent collection, APG will purchase the work from the artist and donate them to HMA. To be eligible, you must enter and have your work selected for the exhibition.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity for emerging and mid-career artists to have their work reviewed by museum curators, with the possibility of being collected by a major art institution. PORTFOLIO will feature a body of work from each of the six to eight artists selected. We are looking for strong, cohesive bodies of work. The exhibit is open to any style, subject, or method that can be accommodated in our gallery. While there is no theme, images submitted should represent a single project, idea, story or vision. An artist statement and brief bio are strongly encouraged. Artists selected will be listed by name and promoted on the APG website along with a link to their site.
