yogaHOPE
Four years ago, when I began to research and develop what would become the yogaHOPE Trauma Informed Mind Body (TIMBo) program, I could never have foreseen the tragic events of last week. If you live in the greater Boston area you have indeed survived a traumatic event and you may be feeling the symptoms of traumatic stress.

So many of you have reached out to me with sadness, anger and confusion, inability to sleep, plagued by nightmares and spontaneous crying fits. These are the symptoms of traumatic stress. It is important that you understand that you have been traumatized. I personally am finding it difficult to walk through the streets of Cambridge without vigilantly looking around for unattended backpacks and wondering if a bomb might go off AT any moment.

What is a traumatic event?
A traumatic event is an event in which an individual's sense of safety has been compromised. This past week's events, including Friday's city wide lock down has left every Boston citizen a trauma survivor. yogaHOPE wants to help in the long term but we are also eager to do something right away.

If you have been affected by last week's events, please let us know! It is now time to offer this program to our beloved communities in and around Boston. 3 Things we can do right now:

TIMBo
1. Get help for yourself
yogaHOPE has several trained TIMBo facilitators who can lead healing programs for those of you who are experiencing symptoms of traumatic stress. If you are experiencing nightmares, trouble sleeping, compromised sense of safety, hyper-vigilance, spontaneous crying, forcefully trying to put something out of your mind and other symptoms please let us know. We want to help. Email us at
yogahope@gmail.com.

2. Get trained to help others
It is beyond evident that Boston needs some healing. We are so thrilled that we have many newly graduated facilitators that can run TIMBo groups in their local communities but we need more. If you have been thinking of training to become a TIMBo facilitator now is the time. Training to become a TIMBo facilitator takes time and commitment and the healing capacity makes it all worth it. With this program you can heal so many people for years to come!

3. Give to support training and help for others who need it!  PayPal
In closing I feel compelled to express gratitude. Gratitude for this incredible community whose first response is not "every man for himself" but "how can I help?" Gratitude for the first responders of Boston who went above and beyond the call of duty (bringing milk to a Watertown family who ran out but couldn't leave their home for example) and risked their lives to ensure the safety of this city. And gratitude to the universe, whose design allowed a powerful trauma recovery program to be ready to deliver right when we need it the absolute most.

I humbly commit to helping others and helping others to help others through the power of TIMBo

With love,
Suzanne Jones
