The 19th Hole Cocktail Reception Join the Party - Register Now!
The 19th Hole Reception! Join in the fun at the 19th Hole Reception, from 5-7 p.m. after the O'Dowd Dragon Classic, set for Monday, September 19 at the Claremont Country Club in Oakland. You'll enjoy light appetizers, beverages, celebrity sightings, a silent auction and a fun putting contest while socializing with fellow O'Dowd parents, alumni and friends. Cafeteria Farm to Table Offerings Reflect O'Dowd's Commitment to Sustainability
What was initially offered as an occasional treat for students, faculty and staff, "Living Lab Soup," made with freshly harvested veggies from the Living Lab, has become a menu staple in the cafeteria on California Thursdays.
Given the popularity of the soup - it often sells out - cafeteria Chef Katia Groffman has begun working closely with Living Lab staff to incorporate additional produce grown in the Living Lab into cafeteria offerings. Accomplished Cafeteria Chef Encourages Healthy Eating
An accomplished chef who worked at the legendary Chez Panisse Restaurant in Berkeley and Manhattan's upscale Esca restaurant, Katia Groffman now calls the O'Dowd cafeteria kitchen home.
Groffman, 34, joined Epicurean Group, O'Dowd's food service provider, in February, and is keenly focused on using the finest organic and natural ingredients to prepare tasty meals for students, faculty and staff. Read more...

O'Dowd is hosting its 35th annual College Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Seniors and their parents are invited to attend "The Right College Fit for You," which begins at 7 p.m. in the theater. Sophomores and juniors and their parents are invited to attend "Sophomores and Juniors Get Ready," which begins at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria. Sojourn to the Past Informational Meeting O'Dowd Trip to Take Place in April 2017

Attention O'Dowd Alums! Join us at the Alumni Beer Garden
Left to right, Kristen Boles '03, Marisa Vierra '02, Kelly Kearns '04, coach Tim Newman, Erin Gainous '03 and Riley Rant '03 are among team members who will be honored.
You're invited to the 4th Annual Alumni Beer Garden, set for Friday, Oct. 28, from 5-7 p.m., in Dominican Hall Courtyard, prior to kickoff of the football game against Berkeley High. The 2001 women's volleyball team will be recognized.
Note: All attendees must RSVP by Friday, Oct. 14 in order to be put on the event list. You must be on this list to gain campus entrance. Please plan to arrive early as campus parking is limited. Campus gates will close by 6:30 p.m.
Bonus! The first 50 alums who RSVP online will receive a FREE football ticket to the game afterwards.

Parent Admissions Ambassadors Needed
The O'Dowd Admissions Office is looking for parent volunteers who can help at events and serve as ambassadors to prospective families.
If you are interested in sharing your excitement about O'Dowd and your family's experience with prospective families, we need you. Please email Admissions Associate Tricia Bevilacqua if you interested in becoming a Parent Admissions Ambassador. It is a great way to connect with the O'Dowd community.

Purchase Your Dragon Ticket Family Season Pass Today
A Dragon Ticket Family Season Pass provides you and your family members admission to all O'Dowd home football, basketball, and volleyball games.
The Athletic Department pre-sells tickets online for selected football and basketball games. Please check the Athletics page of the website for more information on ticket sales. For those without a Dragon Tickets Family Season Pass, online ticket sales for designated home football and basketball games will be released in the following order of priority: 1. Dragon Ticket Family Season Pass Holders

California Scholarship Federation News
California Scholarship Federation (CSF) applications for the spring 2016 semester are due to Mrs. Promes in Room 11 by Friday, September 16. Four semesters of membership, one being in the senior year, are required for Life Membership status. Students will need a completed application, a copy of their report card (these can be found in the student and parent e-mails sent on June 21) or transcript and a $5 membership fee. Fall Parent Book Club "The Awakened Family" Book Featured
We are excited to continue the Parent Book Club, with four meetings in the fall semester. The book club is an opportunity to meet in smaller groups with parents to discuss the views of contemporary experts in issues related to parenting adolescents and to share experiences of parenting teenagers.
