Parents of Malcolm Graham '09 Share Powerful Message
The O'Dowd community was devastated to learn Malcolm Rushe Graham '09 died of an apparent heroin overdose on Aug. 14. His parents, Ricci and Vernae Graham, wrote a moving article, which was published in Sunday's San Francisco Chronicle, about Malcolm's struggles. We are providing the text of that article in the hope that it may initiate discussions between adults and young people about the opioid addiction epidemic our country is now experiencing. Bella Mahoney '19 Suits Up for the U16 Philippine Women's Soccer National Team
When O'Dowd women's varsity soccer players gather for the start of the season, there might not be a better of selection of "What I Did Last Summer" stories than from team member Isabella "Bella" Mahoney '19.
Bella is one of 20 members of the U16 Philippine Women's Soccer Team who traveled to China to compete at the AFC (ASEAN Football Federation) Championship Qualifiers, set for Aug. 27-Sept. 4. Read more...

The O'Dowd Admissions Office is looking for parent volunteers who can help at events and serve as ambassadors to prospective families.
If you are interested in sharing your excitement about O'Dowd and your family's experience with prospective families, we need you. Purchase Your Dragon Ticket Family Season Pass Today
A Dragon Ticket Family Season Pass provides you and your family members admission to all O'Dowd home football, basketball, and volleyball games.
The Athletic Department pre-sells tickets online for selected football and basketball games. Please check the Athletics page of the website for more information on ticket sales.
For those without a Dragon Tickets Family Season Pass, online ticket sales for designated home football and basketball games will be released in the following order of priority:
1. Dragon Ticket Family Season Pass Holders
2. O'Dowd Student Body

O'Dowd is hosting its 35th annual College Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Seniors and their parents are invited to attend "The Right College Fit for You," which begins at 7 p.m. in the theater. Sophomores and juniors and their parents are invited to attend "Sophomores and Juniors Get Ready," which begins at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria. All students and their parents will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities in the gymnasiums, cafeteria and annex starting at 7:30 p.m.

California Scholarship Federation News
California Scholarship Federation (CSF) applications for the spring 2016 semester are due to Mrs. Promes in Room 11 by Friday, September 16. Four semesters of membership, one being in the senior year, are required for Life Membership status. Students will need a completed application, a copy of their report card (these can be found in the student and parent e-mails sent on June 21) or transcript and a $5 membership fee. "The Awakened Family" Book Featured
We are excited to continue the Parent Book Club, with four meetings in the fall semester. The book club is an opportunity to meet in smaller groups with parents to discuss the views of contemporary experts in issues related to parenting adolescents and to share experiences of parenting teenagers.
