Don't miss this great workshop and opportunity to explore the potential of a Bioreactor Landfill in the Flathead and the benefits it could offer including:
  • Increased landfill gas generation to produce more electricity;
  • Extending the life of an operating landfill;
  • A safe and cost-effective alternative to current land application of residential septage. In this type of bioreactor landfill operation, septage is injected into the landfill to accelerate the waste decomposition and methane gas generation.

Click here, to view a background paper on this concept. Note this will take a minute to download.

This workshop is made possible by a grant from the Montana Department of Environmental Quality and has been organized by Citizens for a Better Flathead. Participating Agencies include: Flathead County Solid Waste District, Flathead City-County Health Department, Flathead Electric Cooperative, the Flathead Basin Commission, and the Montana Department of Environmental Quality.
