BE JOYOUS IN ADAR!
A child's play is not simply a reproduction of what he has experienced, but a creative reworking of the impressions he has acquired. Vygotsky
The excitement of Purim begins to permeate every corner of our ECC! Have you visited our rooms lately, or are they really classrooms. . .? Slowly, they are morphing into luxurious palaces, with beautiful thrones, regal outfits in the dramatic areas to recreate the story of Queen Esther, Uncle Mordechai, Achashverosh and Haman, and the sound of music begins to bring the holiday to life! Purim is a natural context for children to engage in imaginative play! (Click here for an interesting article on the benefits of pretend play.)
When children are active participants in the learning, it is a seamless process. We anticipate a few weeks filled with moments of awe and joy. Mishenichnas Adar, Marbim B'Simcha!
Shabbat Shalom,
