WELCOME BACK
It's not about what it is, it's about what it can become. Dr Seuss- The Lorax

It's hard to believe that we are into the second half of the school year!  The children in the ECC continue to grow in leaps and bounds and are blossoming in the nurturing school environment of the Gordon School. I would like to take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to the new families that joined our program this week.  Your child is in for a memorable educational journey filled with exciting experiences of discovery and moments of awe! The return to school was a wonderful time for children and staff, and everyone was eager to share their adventures over break. The sounds of happily engaged children can be heard all over!

With the 2015-2016 arriving in the blink of an eye, be mindful that early registration comes to an end on Friday, Jan. 23rd!  The Gordon School staff is committed to nurturing our children in environments that engage in Best Practices in early childhood education and we look forward to continuing this exciting trajectory with all of your families!

Shabbat Shalom,

Sandra Huzenman, M.S.

THE RESULTS ARE IN!
The Can-u-kiah canned food drive last month was a great success. We are so proud of all of the classrooms' 'can-dles'!  They built some amazing structures and we collected a total of 267 cans!  Although it was a difficult decision, the winning class is grade 3!! They donated a total of 56 cans and designed quite an amazing 'can-dle'!  The prize is a special dress down day as well as 10 more class points which also qualifies them for a "funlab"! Congratulations to the class!

SPECIAL THEATER OPPORTUNITY

On February 19th, PJ Library is partnering with The Miami Theater Center for an exciting adults-only evening at The Miami Theater Center.  The evening will kick off with a wine reception and talk with Rabbis Jonathan and Lauren Berkun. Then we will be treated to a viewing of The Seven Year Itch, directed by our own day school parent, Stephanie Ansin.  Tickets are normally $35, but there is a special PJ Library code (see flyer attached) that gives us a 20% discount.
