| | MMN #6621 |
Now that it's officially summer, many parents have hugged and kissed their children goodbye for a week or more of sleep-away camp. There are numerous choices for camps throughout Maine, many of which have been around for generations. But did you know that the famed Massachusetts Institute of Technology used to have a Technology Camp here from 1912-1953? And in Machias? It's true. In fact, most Civil Engineering undergrads had to attend. Check out this write-up on the camp, which includes a link to the digitized version of the only surviving film footage!
