Digital History: Stories from Maine Memory Network

Historical Image:

MMN #79355

One of the newest Contributing Partners to Maine Memory Network is the Friendship Museum. They are working with students from Friendship Village School to create an exhibit on historic wharves in the town. There has been a flurry of additions to MMN in the past few weeks. Many of the descriptions for these new items have been drafted by the students, who are learning a great deal about the history of their town.

In this image, a crowd stands at the end of the Jameson & Wotton Wharf--the main focus of the exhibit--watching the Coast Guard cut through the ice to make the harbor navigable.
