Important: Do You Currently Have Kobo Arc or Kobo Mini in Inventory? 
Kobo Arc & Mini-End of Life Price Protection

Those of you with a smart phone know the drill: device makers often retire one model soon after releasing a newer version. eReaders are no exception to that pattern, and Kobo has announced that the Kobo Arc and Kobo Mini have reached End of Life. Going forward it will sell the new Kobo Arc 7, Kobo Arc 7HD, and Kobo Arc 10.

All of which means immediate price reductions on all Kobo Arcs and Kobo Minis in your inventory! Beginning October 1, the MSRP for Kobo Arc 16G will be $139.99; for Kobo Arc 32G it will be $169.99; for the Kobo Arc 64G it will be $199.00; and for the Kobo Mini it will be $59.99.

Stores will not, however, lose money on sales of Arcs and Minis on hand; Kobo has agreed to issue rebates for
EVERY ARC & MINI ON HAND AS OF OCTOBER 1 AS FOLLOWS:
$57 for Arc 16G 
$76 for Arc 32G 
$95 for Arc 64G 
$19 for Mini 

Please go to the Kobo Reporting Tool to upload supporting documentation and report your Kobo Arc and Kobo Mini quantity on hand as of October 1. The rebates will be paid no later than first quarter, 2014.

The deadline for reporting the 10/1 quantity on hand is October 7.
Missing Kobo accounts submitted through the end of August have been processed. All eligible email addresses submitted via the reporting tool should now be affiliated with your store.

If there is an account that is not eligible to be repatriated, likely, it is subject to the criteria below:
  1. The customer created their Kobo account prior to the announcement of our partnership in September 2012.
  2. The customer has an alternate email address associated with their account.

The best way to confirm account eligibility is to request an email receipt of a Kobo purchase from the customer-- then enter that address into the reporting tool.
