What do luminaries like Frank Sinatra, George Burns, Celine Dion and I have in common?

We all performed at the Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas (!!)

This year, the Sleeter Group Accounting Solutions Conference returned to the Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, and I was privileged to lead a half-day session on Inventory & Order Management. We touched on best practices for helping clients with inventory and supply chain management, including the inventory tracking features of QuickBooks, Sage 50, and Intacct, and dedicated special focus on QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Advanced Inventory, Advanced Pricing, and Enhanced Receiving modules. Participants also learned about several inventory management solution add-on products that connect to accounting systems. Very active participation and engagement from attendees made this session very popular in the entire conference. If you did not make it to this conference, we have our own "Adventures in Inventory" course at the Mendelson Academy - the schedule of upcoming classes is posted on our website, so check often for upcoming classes.

Besides a popular conference destination, Las Vegas is also where many go for a chance to flirt with luck. This brings to mind cases of the same when it comes to QuickBooks data files - users leaving things to chance with regards to QuickBooks database health. QuickBooks data files often need to be maintained or "tuned" for proper performance.  Also, with normal use (wear and tear), QuickBooks data files sometimes require troubleshooting or repair. At Mendelson Consulting, one of our specialties is in QuickBooks data file management and troubleshooting.

At Mendelson Academy, we have a QuickBooks Data File Management course dedicated to uncover the behind-the-scenes of QuickBooks data files, the ins and outs of file size considerations, tricks on how to speed up QuickBooks, how certain uses of QuickBooks affect performance, and best practices for troubleshooting problem files.

This Data File Management course was one of the most popular sessions at Intuit's recent QuickBooks Connect conference in San Jose, CA... so this if you missed our Webinar on November 18, 2014 call the office and you can purchase a recording.

Las Vegas is a great place to try your luck. Do not do the same about your QuickBooks files!

F3 is Your Friend

Ever Google something?  You know the answer is out there, you just don't where to find it.  Google is pretty cool for that stuff.  Ever wish you had something like that in QuickBooks?  KNOW the name but not sure what type of transaction it was or you KNOW the amount of a transaction but not sure when?  KNOW you put that note in the file somewhere for someone???

F3 my friend, F3!!!!

The power of Google is within your QuickBooks file but few take advantage of it.  This is one of those buttons that will save your sanity AND time.  Give it a try next time you KNOW but just can't find it.  I think you will love the results!  Hit F3 while inside QuickBooks and find out...
