Quotable Quotes
Ah! my heart is weary waiting, Waiting for the May: Waiting for the pleasant rambles Where the fragrant hawthorn brambles, Where the woodbine alternating, Scent the dewy way; Ah! my heart is weary, waiting, Waiting for the May.
~ Denis Florence McCarthy
April is a promise that May is bound to keep.
~Hal Borland
"And a bird overhead sang Follow, And a bird to the right sang Here; And the arch of the leaves was hollow, And the meaning of May was clear."
~Algernon Charles Swinburne

QuickBooks for Accounting Professionals
LIVE SEMINAR: Thu 22 MAY 2014

USE THE APPROPRIATE TOOLS, APPROPRIATELY... Last month I spoke of how advisors exist for a reason: No one should set up QuickBooks alone, despite how some feel that QuickBooks is so easy that they do not need any help. To illustrate, look carefully at the picture below: It probably needs little explanation: It does not matter how many resources you have - if you do not know how to use them, it will never be enough. Same goes for business management software. We see many entities go through a myriad of technology, trying to reach the other side by spending without properly knowing how to maximize their investment. All software requires proper setup and training, period. Our statistics show that a "mere" 100% of QuickBooks users do not use the software properly or to its full capacity. Conclusion: Everyone needs the help of an experienced professional for the setup of the system, to get going right from the beginning -- or even before. It can be said that by far, the majority of system issues can be attributed to not having the right software or the right software setup. So unstack those ladders and line them up... We can help you choose and use the right one to reach the other side! ...MARIO __________________________________________________ |

History of Memorial Day
Memorial Day was originally known as 'Decoration Day' and was traditionally celebrated on May 30th. This date was chosen not because of any particular battle on this date, but because it was considered to be the optimal time for flowers to be in bloom. It was first observed in 1868 as a commemoration after The Civil War.
It was made an official federal holiday in 1971, when it was decided it would be observed on the 4th Monday of May, to allow for a three day weekend. In 1966 the federal government declared Waterloo, NY as the official birthplace of Memorial Day,which had first celebrated the day on May 5, 1866; it was chosen because it hosted an annual, community-wide event, during which businesses closed and residents decorated the graves of soldiers with flowers and flags.
Today, Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May to honor men and women who died serving in the U.S. military.
We at Mendelson Consulting wish you a safe Memorial Day Weekend with your friends and family.
