2013... The Year in Review As another years draws to a close, it's time to reflect on some events that shaped the year (and us!) First, my thanks to all of you -- our clients, our friends, and our colleagues. We are fortunate at Mendelson Consulting, where things are getting better year after year, and we have all of you to thank for it. This year there was palpable increased economic activity in all areas we serve, geographically and within industries. Definitely these are signs of prosperity. In February, during a visit to Silicon Valley, we met with Intuit top level executives and had interaction with QuickBooks product managers, giving our clients an unequaled window to voice ideas and first-hand look at upcoming product features. Also this year, at the Scaling New Heights Conference in Orlando, I facilitated several breakout sessions. Due to overwhelming demand, included were two full-day sessions (up from one the year before) on Advanced Excel with QuickBooks Data, where we probed deeply into Clearify's data extraction / warehousing technology, QQube. For the fourth consecutive year, I had the opportunity to lead the International QuickBooks Conference, this time in Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles. This visit to the beautiful pristine island country gave me again the opportunity to experience the local culture -- the people, the food, the life. My appreciation and admiration for the people of the Dutch Caribbean will never wane, with their affinity for laughter and the lighter side of life! At the Sleeter Group's Accounting Solutions Conference at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, I led several teaching and participated in expert panel sessions. Among them were advanced inventory management and QuickBooks technology topics. 2013 was a year of expansion at our own Mendelson Advanced Training Academy -- we grew our course offerings to include: QuickBooks for Accounting Professionals, QuickBooks Data File Management, QuickBooks Networking Deep Dive, Adventures in Inventory (inventory management, in and out of QuickBooks), Action Reporting (advanced QuickBooks reporting), and the already popular QuickBooks Concepts and QuickBooks Deep Dive. We look forward to additional advanced training courses in 2014! As we wrap up the year, let's remember that people are the foundation of our success. This includes successful clients, loyal friends, and trusting associates who think of us when there is a referral opportunity. And of course, the dedicated members of our team, whose commitment to success echoes in the entire firm. From all of us at Mendelson Consulting -- Mike, Carol, Susana, Carlos, Xavier, Keith, Stan, Olga, Jorge, Dimitry, Eduardo, Luz Marķa, and yours truly -- we wish everyone and look forward to a healthy and happy 2014! ...MARIO __________________________________________________ |
