Support for Economic Gardening
Recently the Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce supported a resolution to bring Economic Gardening to our members as a pilot project for a new member benefit.
Economic gardening takes an entrepreneurial approach to regional prosperity. Often referred to as a "grow from within" strategy, it helps existing companies grow larger. Economic gardening offers a contrast to traditional business assistance by focusing on strategic growth challenges. Economic gardening specialists help identify which issues are hindering business growth and then leverage tools to deliver insights and information that can be applied immediately. Some areas include developing new markets, refining business models, or gaining access to competitive intelligence.
Look for additional details to emerge over the coming months regarding this exciting new project available to Chamber of Commerce members!
'Shift' Happens - Join Us!
In keeping with strategic goals for this year, the Board of Directors has set up a number of working committees to help with advancing key action items. We are seeking interested members who wish to get involved and help create change within our Chamber. We are seeking members for the following committees:
Membership Committee - This committee will be tasked with revamping the variety of services, programs and events we run, with a focus on enhancing value to members.
Communication Committee - This committee will be tasked with conducting an audit on the Chamber's communications and recommending improvements.
Government Relations Committee - This committee will be tasked with bringing forward issues of importance from our membership to be developed into policy solutions and presented to the various levels of government.
Interested members should email manager@penticton.org to express interest.
These committees will be most active over the summer months (June - September). If you don't have the time to actively participate at the committee level, please send us your ideas, feedback and comments. Let us know what you like and what you'd like to see more of.
Join in as we revamp, renovate, refresh and renew many of the things we do as a Chamber of Commerce.
