A fresh face in Penticton!
Well, most everyone knows now that I'm the "new guy" on the block. After only 2 weeks in Penticton and the Chamber offices, I can say I'm very excited to be a part of this community. Everyone has been very friendly, welcoming and helpful during this transition.
Over the coming weeks and months I will be out and about as much as possible to meet as many of you as I can and get feedback on our Chamber of Commerce. If you are in the neighbourhood, pop in to my office above the Penticton Visitor Centre. I always have time to spare for our members.

Spring Election and All Candidates Forums
Election season is now upon us and your Chamber of Commerce is working to get you access to the provincial candidates. In partnership with the Penticton Herald and the Lakeside Resort & Convention Centre, the Penticton and Wine Country Chamber of Commerce is holding a Public All Candidates Forum on Monday, April 29th.
But quite frankly, we didn't think that was enough. In today's economy issues facing business are of utmost importance and our members deserve a chance to ask focused, business oriented questions of our candidates as well. And so, the Penticton and Wine Country Chamber is coordinating a SECOND All Candidates forum for Members Only on Wednesday, May 8th.

Get Youth Working Hiring Incentives
EXTENDED TO MARCH 31, 2014!
The Get Youth Working! Program is funded through the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Agreement. The Program offers employers a $2,800 hiring incentive (up to 3 employees at $2,800 each) to hire eligible youth 15 to 29 years of age. Additionally, employers may request up to $1,000 to purchase training for the newly hired youth. Training activities must be pre-approved and completed within the term of the funding agreement.
