A New Hospital Patient Care Tower Needs Your Voice
As you may know the hospital has been working hard to convince the government to give Penticton funding to build a new patient care tower to modernize our hospital. This hospital expansion would support the economic activity of our community for up to 5 years during construction. After that, by providing a modern facility, the region will have improved ongoing regional health care and Penticton will be able to attract, train and keep doctors to ensure the best possible care for Penticton and region.
The Interior Health District has told us that we need the community to be louder in order to get the province's attention.
If you believe Penticton's hospital should be upgraded, you can help by voting in a local survey. Please go to the Penticton Western News homepage, scroll down to the online poll and respond to its question which asks "Do you believe the provincial government should come up with the funds for a new tower at Penticton Regional Hospital?" Don't miss the chance to make yourself heard - vote today!
If you need information on the hospital and what it will mean for local health care, there is a story in the online paper that provides information here .
Members of the Penticton Medical Society will also host a town hall meeting February 13th at 6:30 p.m. at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre to rally public support for a new, four-storey ambulatory care tower. The Medical Society has also created a website - www.prhtower.ca - to outline its concerns. Read more about the expansion needs there.
