Uncle Wally...
Uncle Wally's Old Brown Shoe, the new picturebook from Wallace Edwards, is out and getting great reviews.

Kirkus said: "[A] delightful fantastical romp...the illustrations beg to be pored over...readers can linger in this visual wonderland."

And Publishers Weekly said: "Edwards (The Cat's Pajamas) uses a "House That Jack Built"-style verse as scaffolding for a series of enigmatic, beautifully drafted paintings."

A tiger's tale indeed.
Text2Reader and bullying...
T2R LogoText2Reader's October issue is organized around National Bullying Prevention Month. Students will explore bullying from every angle, reading fiction and nonfiction excerpts from the perspective of the victim and the perpetrator. In Digital Nation, T2R delves into cyberbullying and our responsibility to ourselves to manage our own digital footprints judiciously.

And because it is National Bullying Prevention Month and in light of recent events, we are making the full text of Digital Nation--dealing with cyberbullying--available at no charge for the next 2 weeks. Download the full section along with comprehension questions, exercises and activities here and the answer key here.

Text2Reader is a Language Arts program for grades 6 to 8. Using selections from bestselling books, Text2Reader is developed by teachers and is correlated to the English Language Arts curriculum and Common Core.

The Magnificent Seven...
Seven

Seven (the series), the linked series of novels by seven bestselling authors (Eric Walters, John Wilson, Shane Peacock, Richard Scrimger, Ted Staunton, Norah McClintock and Sigmund Brouwer) has been galloping out of the gate. Only on shelves for days, we have already gone back to press for a reprint of all seven books.

The Seven bundle box set has been moving well and stores report they can't keep them on the shelf.

"An amazing book... Between Heaven and Earth will leave readers wanting to read the rest of the series!"  (Rachel C., teen reviewer for YALSA's Teen Top Ten review group.)
