How should Christians view prosperity?

The central teaching of the errant Word-Faith movement is that God wills your prosperity and health; therefore, to be a Christian in poverty or ill health is to be outside the will of God.

Joseph Smith and polygamy

Does it make any difference that Joseph Smith, founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, married as many as 40 women, some of whom already were married?

 

Smith's marital history has been the subject of much debate, but until a recent essay by the Mormon Church acknowledging the founding prophet's multiple wives, the church has maintained that Smith was happily married to one woman.

Is homosexuality the worst sin?

It's clear that many people with same-sex attraction think Christians hate them. Perhaps some Christians do, as evidenced by the self-righteous protestors that stand on street corners and hoist signs saying, "God hates fags."

 

But they do not represent the Christians I know, who strive to follow the example of Jesus to be soft on people and hard on sin. This is challenging when the people we are called to love cast us as bigots, hatemongers, and hypocrites for opposing their lifestyles.
