It's hard to believe that this beautiful little boy spent the first few months of his life in a hospital with the diagnosis that he wouldn't make it to a year old. His mother had abandoned him and he was living at the district hospital. Next, he was moved to a government orphanage but when the living conditions at the orphanage were being examined, he was moved back to the hospital again where only his very basic needs were met. Such harsh living conditions for a baby only a few months old!
Inna who works at our orphanage, talks about visiting Yevgeny in the district hospital:
Yegeny was the very first child we took in at Living Pearl! The course of his life was forever impacted! Through Living Pearl, he was also the first child adopted!
Yegeny just celebrated his 6th birthday and is thriving with his new family. Recently, Inna wrote about visiting Yegeny in the hospital when he was a baby. She had the desire to take care of him, but it seemed impossible. She told her mother about Yevgeny, who just told her, "Pray!" When he went to live at Living Pearl, Inna kept praying! God heard her prayers and just a few years ago, Inna's parents adopted him! Now, he has a family that adores him, as every child should! His sister Inna says, "Every day I thank God that my prayers were heard!"
