REACH THE CHILDREN BEFORE THE TRAFFICKERS DO!
AUGUST 2014 CAMPS, FESTIVALS AND MEDICAL MISSION

A Child Trafficking Prevention Camp was recently held in a village south of Davao City, Philippines.

40 Children from this high risk area attended the August Conquest Day Camp and we had 3 new teachers teaching our anti-trafficking education curriculum! This was funded by Seeds of Dignity and our Freedom 1000 partners.

"The children were so well behaved and It was awesome to teach them skills on how they can watch out for the traffickers & stay safe"

"It seems when we go into areas of high poverty they are so eager to learn and engage and make the most of the program, it was awesome being a part of giving them tools for life to stay safe"

AUGUST MEDICAL MISSION

Global Impact partnered with Task Force Davao & Literacy & Development Program to conduct a medical mission for the indigenous people providing free dental work and doctor check ups in the community!

GLOBAL IMPACT AT KADAYAWAN FESTIVAL DAVAO CITY

In the Philippines, August was a productive month for raising human trafficking awareness in the community through our  #beaware #beavoice #beinvolved #besafe campaign.

Safety and security flyers were handed out at the festival in partnership with Task Force Davao and Philippine National Police. Booths were set up in hot spot areas around the city using our Freedom! Philippines campaign .

We also did fundraising to help support our anti trafficking efforts through selling Tshirts, loom bands, and buttons and asking people to partner with us.

EDUCATION SPONSOR NEEDED

Arsilyn is 11 years old...it's a miracle that she's alive!

We met Arsilyn recently at one of our Human Trafficking Prevention Conquest Camps. This beautiful young girl caught our attention as she hobbled over to us with great disability and limited motor skills. We asked her mother what was wrong with Arsilyn and she said, "I don't know". We were shocked to find out that Arsilyn had never been to a doctor! And even more shocking was that she had never been to school.

We took Arsilyn to her first doctor visit thanks to the Maharlika Charity Foundation where she was diagnosed with Asphyxia. At birth she suffered from lack of oxygen to the brain. This left her with a permanent physical disability, mainly in the areas of body movement and communication ability.

This has not stopped her from being a bubbly, full of life, eager to learn young girl!

As we talked with Arsilyn and her mother more, we discovered her strong desire to attend school and be with other children, which to date has been impossible.

This pulled at our heartstrings! Knowing that education is power, we thought of you our fellow freedom fighter! Can you make a difference in Arsilyn's life by helping to fund her education?

We are currently raising $250 USD or $300 NZD for one year's education. This will cover school entrance fee, books, uniform and tuition.
