One out of every three women and one in four men will experience domestic violence or sexual assault in their lifetimes (National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, 2012). When women and men experience domestic violence or sexual assault, the affects can be profound and are not isolated to the individual's personal life.

The SHRM Foundation strives to maximize the impact of the HR profession on organizational decision-making and performance by promoting innovation, education, research and the use of research-based knowledge.
 
One example of this research is the SHRM Foundation's Effective Practice Guidelines series.  This series presents important research findings within a variety of HR topics in a condensed, easy-to-use format for busy HR professionals and students. It's an excellent resource for HR professionals, line managers and classroom use, plus these reports provide practical guidance based on solid research. Some topics include:

SAHRA will be including in each monthly e-newsletter to our members, information on SHRM certification. Our chapter will also be holding informational sessions on SHRM certification throughout this year. Stay tuned!

In fact with Women's Empowerment upcoming April's mentor/mentee session; Lisa has volunteered three times as a WE mentor.
