In the last week or so, the Goodman Community Center's board and staff phoned nearly 1,000 of our new and loyal donors to simply say "thanks." (We're sorry if we didn't reach you!)

Once they got past their surprise that we only called with thanks, many donors volunteered why they support the Goodman Community Center.

Why do you support Goodman?
Because your gift, whether $30 or $3,000,  WILL change lives.

Need a reason to give? Here's what other donors told us:

"I used to teach at O'Keeffe and many of my students went to Goodman. I wanted to support you for that."
- Grayson

"I have volunteered for Thanksgiving for many years -- this year my husband lost his job and we needed a Thanksgiving Basket. We still came and helped bake pies this year, though." - Kimberly

"I love what you're doing there. When we have more money, we'll give again." -James

"I enjoy reading the Eastside News." -Carol

"I believe in the Goodman Community Center. I like that you support teenagers."

-Laura

"The people in the pantry and the front desk are wonderful. The preschool program is great. I wanted to give back. I gave general support because there are so many great programs I didn't want to choose." -Nadine

"I enjoy giving. I came from a background similar to those you help. I think its great there are so many people who care."
-Daniel

Want a little bonus reason to give before the end of the year?

Here are three sweet reasons to make your gift today:

  • DOUBLE YOUR DOLLARS ::  A generous donor will match every dollar that your 2014 giving exceeds what you gave last year. If this gift is a first or renewing gift, your whole gift will be matched!
  • WIN BIG :: You could win a $500 gift certificate to the Edgewater Hotel. All donors who give before the end of the year will be entered into the drawing. Read the complete drawing rules here, including how to enter without making a gift.
  • MAKE SOMEONE'S WHOLE FUTURE BETTER :: And, of course, your gift will absolutely make our day, but what really matters is that you will help give a child or adult at the Center a more secure future. Want to see what we mean?  Read about Romale, Ronan and Kenisha.

Thank you! We hope you have a happy holiday surrounded by the people you love most. All the best in the New Year!
