St. Mary's Academy Time Capsule
St. Mary's Academy's Wildcat has "buried" our time capsule! During our 150th year last year, students in the Lower School assisted Mrs. Frederick in organizing and gathering up specific items to commemorate our 2014-15 school year.  Photos, yearbooks, special items were all included.   How exciting to think about the students of SMA opening it in 50 years??  100 years??  Thanks Wildcat!

Update From Florence Swanson, LS Principal:

Hello Parents!
Thank you for your generous donations for Judi's House this week.  The items will be delivered and greatly appreciated.

Our next Lower School Assembly will be on September 16th.  The teachers and some students will be presenting a dress code runway show!  This is a fun way for all of us to learn about our LS dress code.

Sincerely,
Florence Swanson

News:

High School students left campus on Thursday morning to head to Snow Mountain Ranch and spend time with their schoolmates and teachers.  As they returned Friday afternoon, they were a little tired, but shared good reports from the retreat.  As one teacher mentioned, "it rained a bit, but the girls are so great that it didn't matter."  And everyone was so thrilled that the rain held off in the evening so that the campfire wasn't interrupted!  The weather cleared Friday morning and the scheduled activities of hiking, zipping, rock climbing, ropes and other activities were able to go on as normal.  It was a great retreat and the STUCO reps did a fantastic job of getting all the girls to bond and enjoy the time together.

Upcoming Events:
  • September 10, 4:00pm, Field Hockey at St. Mary's Academy on new Pam Bent Turf Field

Athletic News
Congratulations SMA Wildcats

The Wildcat Cross Country team has picked up right were it left off the 2014 season--making tracks and chasing the competition.  Congratulations to the 2015 Cats, who finished second at the Wildcat Invitational led by Isabella Morrissette and Lauren Banko running in fourth and fifth place.  Friday, the team will be running at the Liberty Bell fast course at Heritage High School.

Special thanks to our cross country coaches: T.S. Berger and Donna Miller.  The Wildcat Invitational requires endless hours of behind the scene paperwork, meetings, set up/clean up, timing system coordination, race results, and MORE. We are so very lucky to have them as coaches here at SMA.

Cheers to the Varsity Field Hockey team for a nail bitting 2-2 tie against Grandview for the season home opener on the new Pam Bent Turf Field!  Our Wildcats fought hard to take it into overtime against the Wolves and tied it up twice for an exciting finish.
Congratulations to our JV and Varsity Volleyball teams for strong wins last night in the CatDome against Englewood High School. JV won their games 2-0 and Varsity finished night night strong winning 3-0!
